Black and white film has a special place in my heart. Vision with a lack of color is sometimes a bleak way to look at the world but I look at it as a more simplistic and vast. It's a funny thing to think of but a world in black and white seems more alive to me. Alive in a subtle way, you can pick out movement or something still feels like it's grounded more. Seeing light in black and white makes you think of what tones you are going to get as well as composition becomes all the more important.
All shots are Ilford HP5 which is what film stock I've had loaded in my Leica M2 for this whole year. Going to be switching back to Kodak Tri-X because of its classic look and the grain structure. That said I really liked the way the HP5 rendered texture.
Thanks for looking,
Until next time!
